Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.
This is an initiative by Jake Parker. Last year I stumbled upon Inktober a bit too late and made one drawing, just for the fun of it. This year I participated from the start.
I decided to do all of them on one sheet of thin kraft paper. I used Indian ink and 3 dippens (kroontjespennen) to draw inside each tiny square. Every day had the same Dude with Tie and I could not or would not change the point of view and the angle (especially challenging when you have to include a whale: it does not fit).
Haven’t missed a day. Never drew ahead and never had to catch up. It was fun and challenging! In the end I loved doing it and loved the whole community and interaction around it (especially on Instagram).
